*COMMUNION HYMN*On the last verse go to the Communion Table
*Uncover the bread -- the Elders will uncover the Bread and Cup Trays
*INVITATION TO COMMUNION
We have gathered around a Table, which does not belong to us. This Table belongs to Jesus; and here we join in an Open Communion – where everyone who accepts Jesus as his or her Savior is invited and welcome.

You are invited to this Table and welcome to eat this Bread and to drink this Cup and thus remember Jesus.
*COMMUNION MEDITATION
The bread which Jesus gave his Disciples to eat was the bread that

was on the Table. He didn’t send out for any special bread because

Jesus knew that all bread is a gift from God. It is the daily bread

for which we pray. It is the daily bread that God provides. In its

own way every bread is special because all bread is a gift from God.

For us, the bread on this table today is a special bread not

because we ordered something special – it is special because it

reminds us of the other very special gift God gives us. That very

special gift is new life in Jesus Christ. So today let us eat this

bread – this special and yet daily bread to remember Jesus and all of

the gifts God gives to us. LET US PRAY
*ELDER’S PRAYER
*WORDS OF INSTITUTION
When Jesus went with his disciples into the Upper Room, their purpose

was to share in a holy meal. During the meal, Jesus took the bread

that was on the table. He thanked God for that bread, and then he

broke it

and passed it to his friends saying, “This is my body broken for you, eat of it all of you.”

*(While the Elders are serving the Diaconate, break the bread into pieces – placing a piece in each of the top bread plates)

*(Step back to be served by the Elder on your left.

*(After the Elders have taken the next plates, place a piece of Bread in each of the top bread plates)

*PICK UP THE CUP AND SAY:

Later in the same meal, Jesus also took a cup from the table. Jesus

thanked God for that cup, and then he passed it to his friends

saying, “This is my blood which is poured out for you for the

forgiveness of your sin, drink all of it.” Let us eat, and drink,

and remember what he did for us.

This then is the Cup, which was poured out for you,Catherine, for

you,Donna for you, ______, and for all of us. Let us drink of the

Cup, and receive this blessing.

*(The Elders will then cover the tray holders and you return to your seats)
