After leaving New Orleans the previous evening,
the Southern Belle makes its way north toward Kansas City.
 | At left: The round end cafe-lounge-observation car
brings up the rear on today's train. By this date, there is no longer a sleeper. The consist is engine 25, a baggage car, one coach and the cafe- lounge.
KCS had made every effort to continue these trains, however, with the loss of mail contracts and the still declining ridership, it was impossible to keep them running. |
